I've Been Waiting for You

Ghost Bride

Higher Resolution: 800x600

The Story:
In Kentuckytown (and Warrensville, Bells, Cyde's Tip, and a myriad of other American small towns past and present), a legend exists around the old churchyard. Just like all great legends, the details of the story get clouded and change with time, but the basics stay the same. The churchyard is haunted. Or visited. Or perhaps even lived in. The legend tells, as most legends tell, of a woman who can be seen in the churchyard on fall nights, wandering and waiting. She's dressed for a wedding (her wedding, of course), although the rest of her story has twisted through the years. Some say that she has been there for centuries, killed when her carriage tipped over a rock right at the door to her own wedding. Others say that she is a more modern haunt; jilted in the 1940's, she waited until the guest had left her not-to-be wedding to hang herself from one of the nearby trees. Others say.....

Late-night legend or late-night vision, many people have claimed sighting her, wandering around the churchyard on dark nights with outstretched arms. She seems to be reaching, waiting for something, or someone....
